That Parts Water) -5t(t-1)/2%
Notes:
- Clears a path through a body of fresh or salt Water in an area L
* W * D ft. Caster may specify direction by Actions.
- Air instantaneously replaces the Water without discernible
side effects (even if the Spell is Cast entirely underwater). Anything
floating on the Water and anything other than Water in the Parted volume
of Water falls to the bottom of the area Parted (no st).
- Tides and current are unaffected (so if used to cross a river, it does
not dam it), flowing across the Parted area as if by a Pass Wall effect.
Waves may splash over the top of the Parted area, but will flow
instantly beyond it rather than falling into it.
- The Spell is commonly used to enable armies, caravans or
refugees to cross water obstacles with shallow banks. It can also be
used to create a tunnel through Water which may be flown through, or as
an offensive Spell against boats and swimmers.
- If D extends beneath the bed of the water obstacle, it will
dry out any mud (but soft sand may result). If D is insufficient at any
point, shallower water will remain there.
- The Song that Parts Water (PAREL) is identical to Part Water
but requires a song to be sung by Caster(s) throughout Prayer, Incantation
and Duration. The effect ends if the Caster(s) stop(s) singing or
Duration ends (whichever first occurs).
