Effect of Throw: Target is T% co-operative

Duration: t min -5t(t-1)/2%

Notes:

  1. Target must be a Being who has died.
  2. Spell will not work if Target has become Undead (unless it is just his/her body that has become a Skeleton or Zombie) or his/her soul has not actually died (e.g. if Stoned, Silver Haloed, Possessing, Possessed or Magic Jarred).  It will work if Target has been reincarnated or has sold his/her next soul to a Demon.
  3. Restricted Information for DMs (not learnt with Spell): Target must be of KOROS's Karmic Pool.
  4. Only one Speak with Dead is permitted per God per dead Being.  A second Cleric of the same God may not cast a Speak with Dead with the same Target as another Cleric of that God, even if the second Cleric has not attempted a Speak with Dead with that Target before.
  5. Target will answer questions based on his/her memory and beliefs at time of death.  Any Charmer effects (e.g. Mental Blocks) will no longer apply after death.
  6. Make Mr checks / %age rolls for co-operativeness as appropriate.  Target's co-operativeness or likely co-operativeness towards Caster when alive is irrelevant.
  7. If Spell succeeds, the voice of the Target is heard by all present as from the body or place of death in Target's normal speaking voice.  Target can only hear Caster.
  8. If Target was deaf and/or dumb when alive, it has no effect on Spell.
  9. Caster may speak to Target either in God's Alignment Tongue or in a language known to Target when alive.  Target will reply in the language used, but if God's Alignment Tongue is not used, Target's fluency will be limited to that he/she had when alive.  If Target is a Creature of Nature, it will not respond to God's Alignment Tongue, and appropriate Druidic means must be used to speak with it.
  10. Speak with the Dead in Battle (ZAKEL) only allows those who have died in battle to be targeted, but all those who died (or whose bodies are present) within range of Caster's voice may respond.
  11. Chant with Dead (PAREL) requires a dirge to be chanted by Caster(s) throughout Prayer and Incantation.  All questions must be asked in a chant, and the Target will reply in like fashion.
