Enter the [Specific Animal] Kingdom (Power)

Notes:

  1. An innate Power given for life to those Beastmaster Druids who reach DrL8.  The Power is Delegated by a Nature Spirit of L ³8.
  2. Allows Druid to Enter the Dream Kingdom of his Totem Animal up to 3 times per Cd.  The Kingdom is entered from within the sight of a Totem Animal (its sight, not the Druid's) or via an appropriate Waypoint.
  3. No SPs needed, but if Druid has <25 IPs, % chance of success = (4 * IPs)%. The IPs are not used up.
  4. There is no duration, but a prolonged stay in certain Kingdoms can make the Druid fall victim to the Trance of the Trees / Desert Madness, and forget to come back.  The Trance / Madness also involves the initial loss of 1 Insanity Level.
  5. The Druid may freely return to Reality from each visit.  If the Druid entered from within sight of a Totem Animal, he will return the same distance from that animal, subject to its movements in the meantime.  Alternatively, he may journey through the Dream Kingdom (by walking or by Planist/Druidic means), and return within the sight of a different specimen of the same Totem Animal or via another Waypoint.  If he has effectively selected the animal at random, it will be a random one in Reality.  The Druid may recognise the dream form of an animal from which he has previously instressed at least 10IP, though he will still have to find it in the Kingdom (the Locate Animals Spell is useful for this).  If he does recognise it, he may emerge within the sight of that animal.  He may have difficulty recognising an animal instressed from over a year ago.ro
  6. Exiting the Kingdom using the Power without having entered it using the Power counts as one of the 3 permitted uses of the Power per Cd, and vice versa.
  7. The Power may also be used to move from the Dream Kingdom of one species of animal to that of another, but to do so either a dream form of the other species may be found (e.g. prey having a Nightmare) or a Waypoint to that other Kingdom must be found.  For example, it may be used to move directly from the Cat Kingdom to the Mouse Kingdom via the dreams of a mouse having nightmares of being hunted.  Each such movement counts as one of the 3 permitted uses of the Power per Cd.
  8. Cat and Snake Cultists who are familiar with the Jewelled City of Bhakanandra may use the Power to visit that fabulous metropolis, but not at the Time of No Cats or Time of No Snakes (respectively).
  9. Knowledge of the Mysteries of the Dream Kingdoms gives Dreamer Level +0.1.  Beastmaster Druids are initiated into the Mysteries on being Delegated this Power (ULT = 10 hours).
