Materials: a fire obstacle of at least the same size as the Caster

Actions: look in target direction, and then blink eyes

Effect of Throw:

1 to 14 No Effect

15 to 19 Distance of Tunnel ("D") = 2(T-14) ft

³20 D = (T-9) ft

Radius of Tunnel: 3r ft -r(r-1)/2

Duration of Tunnel: 5t sec - t(t-1)/2

Passengers: N living passengers -2N (in addition to Caster - no need to hold hands)

Weight: 600w weight points -w(w-1)/2 (excluding body weight of Caster and Passengers)

Notes:

  1. Opens a tunnel through fire for a distance specified by Caster up to a maximum of D ft in the direction selected by the Actions.
  2. The Caster may specify a distance for the tunnel. If he does not or if D is less than specified, the tunnel extends D ft in the selected direction. If D is greater than specified, the tunnel extends the specified distance in the selected direction.
  3. Light concentration is required to maintain the tunnel (except as specified in 7. below). The tunnel lasts until the Caster stops lightly concentrating, the Duration expires, N+1 beings have been through it, or w weight points have been through it (whichever first occurs).
  4. Neither the Caster nor any of the Passengers he intended need go though the tunnel. Other beings or weight may go through it instead.
  5. The Spell does not transport instantaneously. One must move through the tunnel normally. If it goes down whilst someone is doing so, they are ejected, unless they have fallen victim to the Trance of the Trees.
  6. The Spell only creates a tunnel within the same Plane.
  7. The fire must be continuous for the tunnel to be effective, but it may be no more than smoldering.  If there is a break in the fire, the tunnel terminates at that point.
  8. Those moving within the tunnel are perceptible normally, though smoke and flame may obscure vision except along the line of the tunnel.
