on others, Range is at least 0 ft, so there will be a Range minus of at
least -4 (note that the Actions require blood to be drawn from Target with
Materials, which can be tricky if Range > 0).
Notes:
- Cast upon a single living Target Being (the "Target" or
"Shapechanger"), who may be Caster or another. The ethos
of the Cult is that it may be Cast on anyone, with a view to
encourageing them to become an actual Lycanthrope.
- The Target gets a st (which he may choose not to make). If the
Target saves, there is no effect. If the Target fails,or chooses
not, to save, his body is Shapechanged
for an indefinite period into a Lycanthrope
of the applicable species, as determined by the name of the Spell (the
"Shapechangee").
- The Shapechange is Caster-specified.
The sub-species, colour and/or other details of Shapechangee may be freely specified by
Caster on Casting, so long as it is a
possible living specimen of the applicable species of Lycanthrope. It does not need to be a
duplicate of an actual Lycanthrope known to or
memorised by Caster. The Spirit will accurately produce a
proper form for a Lycanthrope that is correctly named in Casting.
- The Shapechanger will actually become a Lycanthrope of the applicable
species, and will
gain all its abilities as per the Monster
Specification for Lycatnropes and the Animal Specification for its
species appropriate to a Lycanthrope of that ML (including Invulnerability
1 and the personality change). Its Fighter
(including HP, AMR, A, D & RD) and
Thievish abilities (if any) will supersede those of the Shapechanger. He will in addition have
his Magic-Using abilities (subject to the usual limitations when
Shapechanged, as noted in the FAQ) and Powers (if any). He will
count as a Monster and not as a Person (or whatever he normally is) and
as a Bear / Pig / Rat / Tiger / Wolf for purposes such as targeting Spells.
- The Shapechangee will be of a random Size that is natural for that
Lycanthrope. The Change takes 1/5 sec per pt Sz
difference.
- Healing Effect: on completing the Shapechange to [Specific
Animal], the Shapechanger loses (10xD6)% DAM.
- Only the body Shapechanges to Lycanthrope form. Clothes and
possessions are unchanged (so may be torn / dropped as the change takes
place), and the Target will be naked on changing back.
- There
is no Duration. The Shapechanger may change back at any time there
is no Full Moon in the sky by rolling <= ML on d12 (RUD). If the Moon is in the
sky add 1 to the d12. Changing back ends
the Effect. A prolonged stay in animal form can result in the
Lycanthrope personality taking over and the Shapechanger not wanting to turn back.
- Any other Shapechange to the Shapechanger whilst he is in the form of
the Shapechangee ends the Effect. On expiration of the Duration of
that Shapechange, he will revert to his previous form.
- The Effect causes the Target to be infected with the Lycanthropy
virus, but only on a temporary basis until he changes back. A
succesful Cast of Cure Disease on the virus will end the Effect.
- Shapechange to Werebear / Wereboar / Wererat / Weretiger / Werewolf are Shapechange
Spells. See the General Notes
on Shapechange Spells and Effects for further explanation of how
their Effect works.
