Good
Clerical God
A kindly-looking, but sharp-faced grey-haired man in white robes. Has a quality of timeless wisdom, which makes it impossible to assign an apparent age to Him. Sometimes appears armed, in a silver breastplate with a black cross of ESCUS, silver greaves and arm-protectors, carrying a large sword or axe and a heater-shaped silver shield, also with a black cross of ESCUS.
ESCUS is the God of Good, which stands for altruism, or the putting of the welfare of others ahead of that of oneself. Examples of Good behaviour are curing the sick, giving alms to the poor, or fighting to protect the weak.
The Creed of ESCUS is a missionary creed. Conversion is for the good of the converted. It also opposes Evil in all its forms, as the antithesis of Good. Thus it is a militant creed. If the Evil cannot be converted, it is permissible to slay them, for the greater good. This tenet finds particular favour in the Kingdom of the North.
