Notes:

  1. Cast on a Target Subject Being, who may be living or Undead.
  2. Detect Life gives Subject the ability for Duration to locate Target living Beings or Objects within the Radius (which moves with Subject).  The Undead are not Living.
  3. Light concentration is required to scan for Life.  The whole Radius is continuously scanned whilst lightly concentrating.
  4. The scanned Targets do not get sts and are not aware of being scanned.  Hide Life Spells or Effects may be used to protect against one's Life being Detected.
  5. Success gives the Subject knowledge of Target's location and that it is Living and enables him to Cast subsequent Spells that target or affect living Beings or Objects that will affect Target, even if Target would have been protected against them by Hide Life Spells or effects which the Detect Life has succeeded against.  This is so until Target moves outside Radius or Duration of Detect Life expires (or if Target becomes protected by a subsequent Hide Life Spell or Effect which Detect Life fails against).
  6. Detect Life does not distinguish whether there are multiple Beings within, upon or possessing the Target (and only one Chance of Success roll is made in such cases), unless Caster is able normally to perceive them separately.
  7. Multiple attempts may not be made to Detect Life on the same Target within the Radius, unless Caster can normally perceive Target (in which case it takes 6 sec to rescan the Target and ratio Chance of Success if less time is taken).
