Range: 20d ft -5d(d-1)/2 %
Duration: 5t min -5t(t-1)/2%
Notes:
- For the Poison System see
Section 7. of the General Systems.
- Cast on a single Target only, which may be a Being or an object (e.g.
a Poison, Blade Venom or envenomed weapon).
- The Spell
is targeted, so if Cast on a Being, it will not affect poisons in his
backpack (which would have to be separately targeted).
- Neutralised Poison no longer has any effect, but if it has already
caused death the Target remains dead. If unconscious, he will wake
on being reduced to < SL/2 PLs.
- Each Cast has a one-off effect, but if the Target has less PL than
Neutralised by T (including if he/it has 0 PL), he/it is Protected against
(PL Neutralised by T) - (PL in Target on Casting) PL for the Duration.
Each PL taken whilst so Protected subtracts 1 PL from the Protection
effect. Note that if a Protected Target is hit by a Poison Spell,
but makes his st, or by an envenomed weapon or sting, which he ADSs, the
Neutralise Poison applies first, so as to reduce the Prot Effect and any
venom on the weapon or sting.
- If Cast on a poisonous Animal or Monster, which fails its st, its
current charge of venom is Neutralised, up to (PL Neutralised by T).
It may recharge normally, but a further (PL Neutralised by T) - (PL in
Target on Casting) PL will be Neutralised for the Duration.
- Multiple Neutralise Poisons are cumulative against Poison in a Target,
but do not give a cumulative Prot. effect (all that are in effect are
reduced by each subsequent PL taken), except against weapons with multiple
charges of Blade Venom (e.g. if 2 Neutralise Poisons are in effect, they
will Neutralise 2 Charges, with the highest PL Prot. applying to the one
being taken by the Target). For example a Cleric has Prots. vs 6 and
4 PLs, and is hit for 1 DAM by a dagger with two charges of L10 Blade
Venom: he takes 4 PLs and the dagger is left with one charge of 6PLs.
This exception also applies against specialist Blade Venom Spells where
the charges are cumulative and all discharge at once.
- The Spell is equally effective against natural, Alchemical or
Magically-created Poisons. It
does
not affect disease or acid.
