Background

See enclosed Information Sheets for history and politics.

Leo and you have long lived separate lives.  Your current lover is Jiclex, Commander of the Imperial Guard, who is tall and very strong, but not too bright.  You have been used and abused too much by men in the past to trust them anymore, but you do consider yourself to be in love with him.

You have become rather estranged from your son Marcus, who has become a religious fanatic and disapproves of your lifestyle.  However you still feel the natural maternal affection for him, and would do anything to secure his succession to the Crown.  You are sure he will make the best Emperor there has been for years.

Now you are shipwrecked on the Secret Isle.  The Imperial Flagship was blown away from the rest of the fleet and only your lifeboat was spared.  Your son was very brave, leading an appeal to SARAN in the boat, which he says saved you.

The survivors are yourself, Leo, Marcus, Jiclex, Lascer Duke of Omec and Taris.  Some years ago you had an affair with Lascer, which you abandoned when he started showing more interest in experimenting with drugs than in you.  Taris is a hawkish follower of Leo who repels you.  He is even nicknamed "Greyhawk".

You and Jiclex have been idly plotting the murder of Leo for some time now.  Here is the golden opportunity...
