Family Tree

Until you were 6 you thought the Emperor Decus was your father.  Then you were told that Leo was your true father, and that was why Decus had locked your mummy up.  Now Decus had been Destroyed by madmen (the Terminati) together with the Magic Sword of the Emperors.  So your real parents were marrying, and your father keeping the magic sword 'The Imperial Flame', which should have been passed to you when you were old enough to wield it.

This was a lot for a child to handle, but you found the strength and love you needed in SARAN.

Today you are shipwrecked on the Secret Isle.  The Imperial Flagship was blown away from the rest of the fleet and only your lifeboat was spared because you led an appeal to SARAN to save you.  The other survivors are your parents, Lascer Duke of Omec, Jiclex Commander of the Imperial Guard (with his magic sword) and Taris Lord High Executioner, Imperial Inquisitor and Master of the Imperial Games (a SARAN Cleric).

DM's Note

In the Year 950, following the death of his father, Marcus recovered the Sword of the Emperors, married Julietta daughter of Decus IV (his half-sister), and was crowned as the Emperor Marcus IV, re-establishing lawful rule in the Eastern Empire.  Marcus was the main victor of the 1-off.
