Appears as a large, strong man wearing black trousers, bare-chested and with a black hood, carrying nasty-looking instruments of torture.  Has a polite and friendly manner and a silken tongue.  Attended by Imps carrying or dragging further tools of His trade.

In Circle:

  1. Will interrogate any one Participant as directed by the Operator to answer the Operator's questions.  If necessary will use torture to compel answers at BTS up to (current C)% (Wp).
  2. Will prevent any one Participant from losing consciousness or dying due to torture (whether by Himself or other Participants).  Does not heal the effects of torture in any way, and the preventative effect will stop on His Dismissal or the Operator's command.
  3. Will teach one technique of torture having BTS up to 50% (Wp).  Prefers to demonstrate on a human sacrifice.
  4. Will give one instrument of torture for use in one such technique.

In Triangle:

  1. Will interrogate any one Participant as directed by the Operator to answer the Operator's questions.  If necessary will use torture to compel answers at BTS up to (6 * current C)% (Wp).  (Remember C is halved on Triangling the Demon, so this is effectively 3 * as effective as torture in the Triangle.
  2. Will teach one technique of torture having BTS up to 100% (Wp).  Prefers to demonstrate on a human sacrifice.
  3. Will give one instrument of torture for use in one such technique.
  4. Pact: will give any one Participant the Power of Resistance to Torture (SL up to +100 against torture, depending on price paid).  Will insist on testing the Power as a term of the Pact.

Familiars: Imps, which delight in interrogation and torture.

Notes:

  1. EXCRUCIOR uses pain and intimidation to produce results.  He is crafty and subtle, but does not use Charmer techniques.  Subjects may lie under interrogation, but if they fail their st against torture sufficiently badly, they will be broken and confess.  If they fail their st narrowly, they will answer, but may be economical with the truth.  If they make their st narrowly, they will start lying to divert the interrogator.
  2. If a subject does not actually know the answer and is broken, he will confess whatever he thinks the interrogator wants to hear.
  3. EXCRUCIOR is skilled at evaluating the truth of answers, but may not express an opinion unless asked with sufficient respect.  It does not seem to be within His Aspect to be compelled on this point.
  4. EXCRUCIOR's techniques may be fatal.  He may build up to the most effective technique (as the gradual building up of pain is crucial to effectiveness), and so can cause a lot of damage.  He will advise against the use of Healing or Regeneration magic during His interrogation, as it is likely to reduce the chance of success.
  5. If a subject has the Power of Regeneration, add 2 * his Wp to his SL vs Torture (in addition to the normal deduction for his Wp).
