Notes:
- Cast on a Radius and affects Target living bodies only within Radius.
- Level Squared Points ("LSP") are distributed by allocating
Saving Level ("SL") LSP to each potential Target within Radius
in turn, starting with those of lowest SL (subject to Note
3 below) and working up. Where SLs are equal, select randomly. A
Target must have SL2 LSP allocated to him and have SL ≤
Max. SL Slept, or he will be unaffected.
- Targets higher up the Scale of Life will be selected
in priority to those lower down the Scale of Life, provided they have SL
≤ Max. SL.
Monsters are therefore prioritised over People (SL permitting) and
People over Animals. The Spell does not affect Vegetables, which
do not sleep.
- Each affected Target gets a st. If he fails to save, he falls
asleep and loses control of his body, mind and senses. He will
fall over with eyes closed. He cannot be woken up normally, but
can be woken by Wp Battle.
- A Slept Target breathes and needs
air to survive. He will easily detect as being alive
(breathing as in sleep and having a pulse) and can be affected normally
by Spells or Effects that only affect living Beings. Sleep is not
a Hide Life Effect.
- A Slept Target is unable to cast thought or reflex Spells. If a
Dreamer, he may Dream normally, including Casting Spells. If Mad,
he may wander the Realm of Madness and Cast Spells as if Dreaming.
- The Caster does not gain control of the Target's body. But a
Slept Target is vulnerable to being killed by the Caster or his
party. His D and RD are 0
(subject to Spells and Effects that modify D and RD and do not require
him to be dodging) and he takes Damage normally (and will Bleed and can
die from it, but only feels pain through any Dreams or Madness).
- A further st must be made by each
Slept Target to awake from Sleep, as shown in the table for Duration.
- A Slept Target may recover Spell
Points as if in Deep Sleep, but note that a full 30 min Deep Sleep
is required to recover 1SP and the Target cannot choose to remain asleep
by not making sts.
