Powers:

  1. A +2 (or -2 modifier to base chance of death / injury from st in Army Combat)
  2. Sharpness: any -ve combat result of -25% or better *2, & modified automatically towards nearest to aiming point of neck (highest Hit Loc in head) or junction of a limb to torso (lowest Hit Loc in limb) & any Dam. severs (only works if Wielder has Accepted Ft in SARAN >= 10)
  3. Saving Level + (No. of SP Allocated by Wielder), Max. SP Allocatable = PlL, Cumulative with Paladinic Power no. 2. (only works if Wielder has Accepted Ft in SARAN >= 10)
  4. Exhortation: increases Wielder's charisma in making rousing speeches, and amplifies his voice.  SP Allocated by Wielder = 5
  5. Telepathic Link to Wielder when grasped.  SP Allocated by Wielder = 2

Notes:

  1. SP are Allocated (and de-allocated) at will by 1 sec's heavy concentration with indefinite duration.  The Allocated SP count towards SP available (e.g. for calculating when one goes below 1/2 SP), but do not count as used (e.g. for the same purpose) as they are not expended.  They are not available for use in Spells.  If the number of SP used in Magic-Using reduces total SP available to less than the number of SP allocated, the number allocated is reduced accordingly.

  2. If the Lord Marshal is Champion of a Noble House having its own Holy Sword, he may choose which Sword to wield.  If he chooses his House Sword, the Lord Admiral of Valdrea wields Gladius Legati.  If he choose Gladius Legati, the Second Champion of His House wields the House Sword.

  3. Will do d6/sec General Damage (no st) to any Chaotic Being grasping it.

Given by SARAN on 24 Weven 500 to Rufus, companion and General of the First Emperor, Valder I, in the Commune when the First Empire was founded.  Rufus was promoted to Lord Marshal of Valdrea, and the Sword wielded by the holder of that Office ever since.
