Description: a ring (usually silver) with a mounted gemstone (usually a diamond)

Powers:

Ring of Invulnerability 1: wearer is invulnerable to non-magical attacks, vulnerable to silver & magical attacks, other beings with Invulnerability 1 are vulnerable to wearer

Ring of Invulnerability 3: wearer is invulnerable to non-magical and silver attacks, vulnerable to magical attacks, other beings with Invulnerability 3 are vulnerable to wearer

Notes:

  1. See General Notes on Magic Rings.

  2. Gemstone is a Bound L6 Enchanter Elemental.  It does not count as permanently Activated for Casting Elementalist Spells, and may not be Activated for that purpose, even using its True Name.  It may be Activated into Conference using its True Name.

  3. Wearer must be a living Being.  If wearer dies, the Ring ceases to have any effect.

  4. Beings with Invulnerability can damage other Beings with the same or a lesser level of Invulnerability, e.g. a being with Invulnerability 2 can damage beings with Invulnerability 1 or 2 using a non-magical weapon, but could not damage a being with Invulnerability 3 unless using a magical weapon.
  5. Mithril counts as silver for this purpose (though many mithril weapons are also enchanted as magic weapons).
  6. Invulnerability does not confer resistance to Poison, but a weapon with Blade Venom needs to do at least 1HP of Damage to deliver the Poison, e.g. a being with Invulnerability cannot be Poisoned by an envenomed non-magical weapon.
  7. Invulnerability does not confer resistance to fire, cold, lightning, acid, etc., whether delivered by magical or non-magical means, e.g. a non-magical flaming arrow can do fire damage to a being with Invulnerability, but not the normal damage from the arrow.
