Attack Modes:

Claw @ A = 10AL %, DAM = d10, or may forego DAM (before rolling it) and go for 5% chance / HP DAM that would have been dealt (now roll it) of Hug.  In each subsequent AMR roll 2d[AL] General Damage.  May release victim at will (doesn't use an AMR), or will drop victim if Bear takes any Damage itself (from any source).  Hugged victim cannot move arms (e.g. to attack or cast Spells).

Bite @ A = 8AL %, DAM = d12, with 5% chance / HP DAM dealt of sinking in teeth and holding on.  If succeeds, in subsequent attack may attempt to Disembowel at 10AL% chance of success, doing 2d6 Disemboweling DAM (no ADS).

If a cub is killed, females Berserk @ *2 to A and DAM, and will keep attacking the killer of the cub until he is dead (and probably for a few AMR after that).

  1. Some bears (5% / 10% in Taur Galen / 20% in NE Forest / 1% of polar bears) are carriers of the Werebear Lycanthropy virus: BTS 50 + 5AL% vs being infected whenever a bear with the virus does DAM.
  2. Polar bears have Cold Resistance @ -1 / d6 Cold Damage.  They are not Fire Vulnerable (though they are scared of fire, like all Animals), but count as Cold Users for the purposes of certain Magical effects.
