Succeeds on: 15%

Lose is used to elude anyone who may be trying to Follow the Thief through an urban environment.  It is not necessary for the Thief to have spotted a Follower or to have become aware he is being followed.  Lose simply represents the taking of certain precautions.

Make periodic Throws: at least every 15 min, or on a change in crowd / environment.

T Effect
>= 16 Failure: no effect on any Followers' T
<= 15 Add (16-T) to any Throws of Follow as against Thief and Companions

Difficulty Levels:

  1. ThL of Follower (FRD to one decimal place: e.g for ThL 2.4 DL is 2.4, giving +24% to T), as against that Follower only
  2. No. of Companions Th is escorting (who are not making their own Lose attempts): for C Companions, DL = C(C+1)/2
  3. Losing in daylight = DL 2
  4. Density of crowd on streets = DL 0 (crowded) to DL 2 (sufficient people about to give reasonable cover to Thief & Companions but not to obscure Follower's line of sight) to DL 7 (deserted)
  5. Amount of cover in environment = DL 0 (plenty of cover) to DL 5 (wide open square)
  6. Thief's home territory = DL -3
