Potion: Ogre Strength / Giant Strength

Materials

The Materials do not need to be freshly dead, but should still be in good condition.

Spell

Clerical Animate Dead with a Throw giving a minimum of:

Note that one Cast may be used to create multiple Potions if sufficient Throw is achieved (i.e. 10% per ML).

Effect

  1. Taker does not need to be living.  He must be corporeal to take the Potion, but may become incorporeal and retain the Effect.
  2. Gives taker Strength + d6 (Ogre Strength) or Strength + ML of Giant used for Materials (Giant Strength) for the Duration.  Has no effect if he is already that St or higher.
  3. The St bonus has the resulting effects on Fighter Abilities (except on Attacks per Melee Round), in particular by increasing St as against StN for A and DAM.
  4. The Effect is in addition to that of Potions of Heroism / Super-Heroism,but is not cumulative with that of other Potions of Ogre Strength / Giant Strength (count only that giving the greatest St bonus).
  5. Does not give any other Powers of Ogres, Ogre Magi or Giants.
  6. The taker does not count as Undead, despite the use of Animate Dead in manufacture.  Alchemists in the Overworld do not publicise the fact that manufacturing these Potions requires necromancy and usually involves their dealing with Evil Temples.  The Potions are bulk manufactured in the Southern Cities and Alchemists in Valdrea and the North often import them from there.
  7. Duration (non-Extendable) is 9 + d6 min (i.e. 10-15 min).
