Clerical Spell Specification

[2+] Prot vs. [Alignment] / Shield of Neutrality

BTS = 26% (At)

ULT = 5 hrs

Usual Spell Level = 2 * no. of Alignment Axes to be Prot'd vs. (e.g Good, Neutral on G/E Axis. Evil, Law, Neutral on L/C Axis, Chaos). Not all Gods Prot. vs. all Alignment Axes.

Spell Level is also increased by 2 * no. of Prot Spells vs. other Alignment Axes already on target(s); so it is usually better to cast one composite Prot. Spell Level is not increased for a subsequent Prot. vs. the same Alignment Axis, but multiple Prots. have concurrent rather than cumulative effect (see below).

Materials: none

Actions: Make Symbol of own Alignment, then those of Alignment(s) to be Prot'd against

Number Affected: T/30 (FRU)

select randomly if more within radius: beings entering / leaving radius can then cause reselection. but not so as to lose Prot for someone still within radius

Prot. Effect: +P% -P2%

Range: d feet -5d(d+1)/2% if specified, cast on another being / object

Radius: 2r feet -5r(r+1)/2% if not specified, Caster(s) only affected

Duration: t min -5(t-1)%

Effect: Radius moves with being / object on which cast. Protects against attacks by the Alignment Axes specified as follows:

Notes:

  1. Effect is not cumulative with any other Protections giving the same effects, including other Prot. vs. [Alignment] Spells against the same Alignment (as opposed to Alignment Axis); e.g Prot. vs Evil and Prot. vs. Chaos are not cumulative vs Evil Chaos: the best would apply, and the second Spell would be 4th level. If someone with a 2nd level Prot. up also becomes subject to another 2nd level Prot., the second has no effect. If someone should simultaneously become subject to two equal-level Prot. Spells, the strongest would have effect.

  2. Clerical Prot. is therefore not cumulative with Elementalist Dodge or Prot. vs. MagicDisplacement bonuses to D, RD & SL from Spells and Effects are however cumulative with Prot. bonuses.
